AI for Plumbing Companies
Most of a plumbing dispatcher's day is checking, chasing, and fixing records. That's exactly the kind of work AI is good at.
For a plumbing company, the clearest place AI pays off is the dispatch desk. A good dispatcher spends hours every day checking the board, auditing yesterday's invoices, and chasing estimates that never closed. AI can do the checking and the chasing and hand your dispatcher a short list of what needs a decision.
We built that for the plumbing department at Edelman, a 9-location heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical company in Central Illinois that runs on ServiceTitan.
What does AI do for a plumbing dispatcher?
We mapped the dispatcher's whole day and turned it into a routine the AI runs alongside them.
- Before 8 AM, a morning brief lists unassigned jobs, invoices billed the wrong dispatch fee, light days coming up this week, and sold estimates that still need to be booked
- A daily audit of yesterday's invoices flags the exceptions so they get fixed before they hit the numbers
- A follow-up list of unsold estimates, oldest first, so the dispatcher knows exactly who to call
- A list of customers due for maintenance, ready to book
- Every Monday, a reconciliation that catches unbatched invoices, open purchase orders, and missing vendor bills before the weekly KPI report goes out
- On-call pay worked out from the schedule, so nobody adds it up by hand
Who approves the changes?
Your dispatcher does. The AI shows every change before it makes it, and nothing that touches a record goes through without a person saying yes. That goes double for anything involving money.

Dispatcher Daily Routine
The morning brief, invoice audit, estimate follow-up, maintenance list, and Monday reconciliation, all run from one place in Claude.

Where should a plumbing company start?
If your dispatcher is buried, start there. The morning brief is a good first piece because it pulls together what your dispatcher already checks every morning, in one place, before the phones turn on.
If you're not sure where your time is going, that's what the AI Snapshot is for. We talk with you and your team and hand you your top AI opportunities on one page.
Common Questions
Can AI book jobs in ServiceTitan?
Yes, with a person confirming each one. Our dispatcher setup can assign techs, book sold estimates, and log follow-up notes, but it shows the change first and waits for a yes.
What can't it do yet?
Some ServiceTitan steps have no way for outside tools to reach them, like creating invoice batches and sending receipts. Those stay manual, and we'll tell you up front which parts of your routine fall in that bucket.
Does it work for smaller plumbing shops?
Yes. Edelman's plumbing department is bigger than most, but a shop with one dispatcher has the same morning checks and the same unsold estimates. The setup just gets smaller.
